We are delighted to announce that four of our employees have gained qualifications in Team Leading specifically for the Business Skills Sector.

All four are now qualified at intermediate level after studying alongside their job roles at PAL Hire.

James Adair, Senior National Account Manager (31), Dave Smirthwaite, National Account Manager (26), Amy Farrall, Senior Support Specialist (22), and Mark Basnett, National Account Manager (32), all received their certificates from Damar Training last week.

Amy says, “I began the transition to leading the support department by the support from the directors who encouraged me to start the team leading course.

“With help from Damar Training and the ongoing experience gained within my role, I now manage a team of eight. The skills I have learnt has helped me to manage them effectively and also my daily workload.

“The course has shown me that my presence is valued and that the company are keen to help me personally improve my management skills.”

Dave says, “The course was mainly written work, testing our knowledge of management and the ways businesses are run. I enjoyed doing the presentation on innovation, I feel I leant the most from that section.

“The course was offered to all of the seniors in the sales and support departments and we received guidance and advice from the directors and Damar throughout.

“I am hoping the course will help me progress into a role that allows me to use what I have learnt.”

Katie Davies, Damar trainer says, “I am delighted to have taken James, Dave, Amy and Mark through their team leading apprenticeships. They worked hard and were positive throughout, balancing their day-to-day duties with the demands of the qualification.

“Damar’s team leading apprenticeship helps to build interpersonal and business skills, for experienced and newly appointed managers. Through knowledge and competency assessment, the investment allows individuals to gain a recognised qualification, as well as benefit their teams and the overall business operation. Well done!”

Company Director Dan Daintry says, “Progression and development for our employees is essential.

“Encouraging our staff to fulfil their potential, not only helps them as individuals but is also integral to our continued growth.

“We are proud of their commitment and dedication not only to themselves but to their peers and look forward to seeing what each of them will achieve in the future.”
